Club News – Skill Club and Coaching

Winchester United is proud to announce the forming of The Skill Club.  This program will be headed by Neil Hammond and Dr James Freilich.  It will consist of different juggling levels as well as game-related moves.  Each player will receive a scorecard.  The coaches will mark the card when a player reaches each level of achievement.  Date of this program:  Friday, April 6, through June 1 at Orchard View ES from 5-6:15.  There will be a one-time fee of $5.00  Ages from 9-14 are welcome.  You can register online here!
Brian Straightiff is returning as Director of United’s Academy which will run April 6 through June 1 at Orchard View ES from 5:30-6:30.   This program is for ages 7 and 8 and the cost is $35.00. The Academy is designed to promote skill and give the young players an avenue to progress to a higher level of play.  Register online here!
United is also very happy to announce that former coaching director Mark Weisbrod will become Assistant Director of the Club.
Matt Smith, Shenandoah University’s Men’s Soccer Coach, has accepted the position of Director of Coaching for WU.  Matt is well known for his outstanding accomplishments as a college coach as well as the work he has done with many travel clubs.
Neil Hammond will continue as the Club’s Technical Director.  He has done a great job in this position.
